Pompeo’s Last-Ditch Blunder – The Lie of the Century

IT IS INDEED a strange moment in history that we are finding ourselves in– witnessing the US and its western allies resorting to a political strategy that pushes lies and falsehoods to the world, with increasing desperation. The ulterior motive of the US-led clique is clearly to push a hidden devious agenda – one that seeks to contain a rising dragon from becoming the next world economic, technology and even military powerhouse.

Just imagine, pushing a wild narrative that human genocide is being wickedly imposed on the minority Uyghur race of Xinjiang, North-Western China. Mike Pompeo made this incredible assertion, just before he left the political stage, as the new Biden administration took over the white House in January 2021. This ridiculous accusation is being increasingly termed as one of the greatest lies of the century!

Sad to say, mutual respect and diplomatic decency is no longer the order of the moment, being unceremoniously thrown out of the window!

Pompeo’s successor Anthony Blinken in the current administration, appears to be toeing the same path, disregarding the many convincing facts and continues to propagate this great lie, for similar ulterior motives.

Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (新疆维吾尔自治区)is a very huge spread of land of great diversity in North-Western China, with an area of 1,600,000 sq km area, four times the size of Germany. It is rich in history, geographically diverse and has been a prominent part of the ancient silk route, home to many minority tribes besides Uyghurs, such as Tibetans, Kazakhs, Tajiks, mongols, Hui etc, and of course the Han Chinese.

Xinjiang is the gateway to Central Asia, Middle East and Africa. Xinjiang shares borders with 8 other countries on its northern, western and southern flanks.

If you trace some it’s history, you will know there have been episodes of wars, bloodshed, terrorism, Mongolian and other barbaric invasions. Xinjiang has been home to flourishing trades and trading posts, a melting pot of ancient trading civilisations, bustling cities that grew up but disappeared over time in its river banks, sculpt by ever-changing desert landscape amidst harsh mountainous ranges.

Xinjiang also boasts of wide expansive valleys and grasslands, imposing mountain lakes, natural rivers and gorges, blessed with rich minerals and oil deposits, agricultural produces including cotton. You can also find exotic wild animals and birds, as well as a juxtaposition of many cultures and people of different races and tribes, now living harmoniously together.

Xinjiang is also the place where the rare-earth mineral deposits are mined, processed and exported to the world. It is a place rich in oil and natural gas deposits, especially hidden deep underground in its vast stretch of uninhabitable deserts.

Like the rest of China, extreme poverty has been eradicated here in year 2020 and progress is clearly seen all over Xinjiang’s many cities, towns and villages. Long stretches of top-class paved roads and high-speed trains and huge infrastructure projects such as massive bridges, power-generating wind farms, solar energy panel farms, etc. can be seen.

From 1990 to 2016, there were unrests and bloody attacks by separatists and religious extremists in many parts, which inflicted enormous losses in live and property. In response, the Chinese goverment undertook strong anti-terrorism and de-radicalisation efforts to eradicate extremism and brought back order and stability. It was a successful excercise and the region has not seen a single terrorist attack in four years straight.

From 2010 to 2018, the Uyghur population increased by 25% to reach 12.8million. The Uyghur population continues to grow and people of all ethnic groups are living better lives, so slander of lies of genocide in Xinjiang are totally untenable. Just as in any other countries with terrorist and separatist problems, there must be certain strict measures in place to fight extremists and those who wants to upset the peace and stability of the country. China is no different and have justifiable reasons to engage anti-terrorist,anti-violence and de-radicalisation measures to prevent bloodshed from ever happening again.

An engineering marvel — The great Guozigou bridge in North Xinjiang, Yili County 果子沟大桥

The whole of China has 55 minority races and tribes spread throughout the country. Why would China carry out an unbelievable GENOCIDE on the one minority Uyghur race for no good rhyme or reason, a move which will dismantle the progress achieved by this autonomous region that possesses such great potential? It is beyond belief and rational understanding. The only conclusion we can arrive at is that we are witnessing the propagation of a big vicious and despicable lie by the US.

( Indeed, for this ex-CIA Director/ex-Secretary of State, he readily admits on record that it is totally within their nature and character to routinely foster & foment lies all over the world for self-serving ulterior motives. )

Xinjiang is not Iraq, nor is it Afghanistan, both of which are comparatively backward and much less economically developed. There is not an iota of possibility for the US to impose its will in Xinjiang to force their hidden agenda, no matter what shenanigan it pulls. There is a small number of Uyghurs who are still promoting separatism and who hope to upset the existing peaceful status quo. Some are part of the ETIM terrorist group that is active outside of Xinjiang but harbour intention to ‘liberate’ what they claim is ‘East Turkistan’. Fortunately for the majority rest who are peace-loving, those dissidents are under close surveillance, some in detention and hopefully, will not surface again to create any trouble to disturb the hard-earned stability existing today.

The stakes are high in this geopolitical struggle between US and China and Xinjiang is obviously being used as a pawn. Together with other schemes being hatched, these are very much a prelude to a vicious fight for geopolitical supremacy over the coming decades and century. Facts and fair-play matter little, as the US seemed to be employing all tricks to demonise and contain this awakened dragon China.

It is a fact that in the near to medium term the propaganda blastings against China by the western media, as well as from the anti-China politicians will likely become louder and more poisonous. Obviously it is in their interest not to stop the onslaught anytime soon.

China is not standing still though. It is employing a variety of means including adopting the so-called ‘wolf warrior diplomacy’ measures to actively counter all the baseless smearing and accusations.

So, by all accounts, the war between the Western imperialists and ex-colonizers with China has started, with propaganda machines being pushed to the frontline for now.

Where these battles will lead to in the future will be interesting to watch and follow.
